He was predeceased by : his mother Pearl Allen; his son Paul; his daughter-in-law Ann; and his grandson Ryan. He is survived by : his father Clyde Allen; his wife Lois; his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Robin; his granddaughters, Stacey and Ashley; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Sienna and Nathaniel; and his siblings, Gary (Anita) and Sharon Matz (Chellis). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials preferred to Gustavus Adolphus College & Mount Olivet Lutheran Church.
