We are sad to announce that on February 4, 2024, at the age of 86, Ernest Frederick Jurek of Silver Lake, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James Sr. Jurek and Barbara Jurek (Rudnick); his brother James Jurek; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Jurek and Willard Trnka.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Ann (Skorpik); his children, Scott Jurek (Connie), Brad Jurek (Lisa), Ross Jurek (Stacie) and Kim Pokornowski (Roger); his grandchildren, Chad Pokornowski (Jennifer), Sara Dressel, Jesse Jurek (Rachel), Heidi Blommel (Jason), Dustin Jurek (Jordan), Megan Andrews (Sam), Blake Jurek and Paige Jurek (Christian Vega); his great grandchildren, Kyler, Ayla Pokornowski, Ethan Dressel, Marli, Lucy, Penelope, Maxon Blommel, Jaxson, Raven Jurek, June, Ruby Jurek, Marren and Lennon Andrews; and his sister-in-law Lorraine Trnka. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Thomas Rost wrote a sympathy message

“During the 1950s I would spend 1-2 weeks just about every summer in Silver Lake with Barb and Jim. Their house was near downtown and at that time the house had no running water, no electricity, no indoor bathroom. I was just a kid, so that was more an adventure instead of an inconvenience. I sent those days hanging out with Ernie, riding bikes, hiking in the fields, milking the cow, catching bullheads, playing with model cars and just having a grand time. Best wishes to the family.
