He was predeceased by: his parents, John Behrends and Evelyn Nord Behrends; and his sisters, Gloria Pelligrino (John) and Linda Beers (Kevin). He is survived by: his children, Ross Behrends (Melanie) of Slayton, MN, Brett Behrends of Brookings, SD and Kim Nelson of Robbinsdale, MN; his brother Rodney Behrends (Eunice) of Worthington, MN; and his grandchildren, Tristan, Caden Behrends and Max Nemesi (Kathy Behrends).
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church (2959 Queen Ave, Slayton, MN 56172). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
