He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Tauer and Ida Tauer (Stadick); his parents-in-law, Arthur and Louisa Helget (Rothmeier); his sister Lenora Schumacher; his siblings-in-law, Marvin Schumacher, Laverne "Satch" Helget, Leon "The Dude" Helget, Vince Domeier, Fred Moldan, Arlis Forstner (Helget), LaDonna Helget (Heiderscheidt) and Janet Helget (Stadick); and his nieces, Nancy Helget and Beth DuChene (Forstner).
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Tauer (Helget); his children, Jeane Havemeier (David) and Loren; his grandchildren, Ryan Tauer (Anna), Joey Tauer (Rachel), Stacie Havemeier (Marshall Gallagher) and Stefanie Havemeier (Peter Coborn); his great grandchildren, Leo, Nolan, Gabe, Rudy, James, Carson, Brody Tauer and Sullivan Gallagher; and his siblings-in-law, Artie Helget (Annie), Rollie Forstner, Ardelle Domeier (Helget) and Luann Moldan (Helget). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.
