He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles S. Tekautz and Gladys Tekautz (Axelson); his son Brian; his siblings, Edward, Tim, Robert and Pat; and his in-laws, Richard, Mabel Singleton, Pierce and Bertha Holstine.
He is survived by: his sister Delta Waseca; his wife Nancy Singleton Vandevoort; his children, Stephen Tekautz (Terry) of Soudan, MN, Dena Suihkonen (Thomas) of Tower, MN, Anthony Tekautz (Ann) of Brooklyn Park, MN, John Vandevoort (Darcey) of Tower, MN and David Vandevoort (Tina) of Tallahassee, Fla.; his grandchildren, Callie Jensen (Christopher), Charlie Tekautz (Makayla Densmore), Tucker Tekautz, Andrea Suihkonen, Ariana Picard (Jason), Gabriella Gross (Jorden), Olivia Haavisto (Brody), Stefanie Holleman (Derek), Brent Tekautz, Nathan Tekautz, Nicholas Vandevoort, Sabrina Navarro (Jaziel), Justin Vandevoort (Samantha) and Emily Vandevoort; his great grandchildren, Madelynn, Brooklynn, Ashlynn Jensen, Barrett, Sage Picard and Carver Haavisto; and his sister Melinda Berg of Eveleth.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Martin's Catholic Church (107 N 3rd St, Tower, MN 55790). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Lakeview Cemetery.
