He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Smith and Harriet Smith (Ashwill); his wife Joyce Myllykangas of Valentine's Day; his daughter Tammy Steffes; his sisters, Carol Jean Hendrickson, Betty Angermeier, Alice Erickson and Lucy Mansicka; and his daughter-in-law Kimberlee Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Smith of St. Cloud, Terry Smith (Tom) of Victoria, Troy Smith (Janice) of South Haven and Tanya Dahnke (Jared) of Clearwater; and his sisters, Shirley Hendrickson, Marly Harbinson and Darlene Lampi (Ron). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
