Robert Hensel Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Robert Hensel of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Robert, born on May 29, 1945 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, passed away on September 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hensel and Edna Hensel (Snyder); and his sister Kathy Elfstrum. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hensel; his sons, Paul Hensel (Chris) and Brian Hensel (Juanita); his grandchildren, Jamie, Megan, Briahna, Kyle and Josiah; and his sisters, JoAnn Lano and Nancy Huonder (Steve). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and his church family.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wakota Ridge Lutheran Church (255 W Douglas St, South St Paul, MN 55075). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Allina Health Foundation, care of United Hospital Fund – Nassef Heart Center or Allina Health Cancer Institute Fund.
