Debra Mertens Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Debra Mertens of Staples, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 13, 2025 at the age of 67. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Debra Mertens to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Trana and Barbara Trana; her brother Kim Trana; and her niece Dezerae Trana. She is survived by: her husband Clyde Mertens; her children, Christopher Mertens (Jessica) of Staples and Lori Smith (Mark) of Motley; her grandchildren, Alexis, Clay, Hunter and Carson; and her siblings, Amber Bartylla (Dale) of Hewitt, Thomas Trana (Kathleen) of Staples and Dennis Trana (Mona) of Staples. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Motley Free Methodist Church (33 Wellwood St, Motley, MN 56466). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
