With sadness, we share the passing of Duane Payne (Staples, Minnesota), born on March 4, 1917 in Motley, Minnesota. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter G. Payne and Laura B. Payne (Williams); his wife Lorna Payne; his children, Joyce Payne (Marilyn), Clarice Ann Payne and Quentin Leroy Payne; and his siblings, Ivan Payne and Iras Chapin.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Walter Payne (Lori), Linda Bowman (Dennis), Annette Brieger (David), Michael Payne and Jodi Reid. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services - Staples (309 4th St NE, Staples, MN 56479). A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.
