Marlys leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Marlys’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Marlys will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Burton "Bert" Kirkland and Fern Kirkland (Schuck); her husband James "Jim" Breidel; her sister Lois Mork (Carl); and her stepson Jamie Breidel.
She is survived by: her siblings, Joyce Banks (Jerry), Shirley Schumacher (Dave), Marlene Holmstadt (Andy), Clayton Kirkland (Jodel) and Duane Kirkland (Sharon). She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the American Legion Post 64 (1100 2nd Ave NW, Stewartville, MN 55976).
