He is survived by: his wife Leone Garthus Skadsem; his sons, Joe, Josh Johnson of Brainerd, MN, Corey Skadsem and Mandi Olberg; his grandchildren, Lily Hockstedlar of Grand Forks, ND, Gage Skadsem of Newfolden, MN, Kayci, Kylee, Kooper, Kashtin and Kaden of Karlstad, MN; his sister Holly Hoy (Leonard) of Roosevelt, MN; his siblings-in-law, Marion Johnson, Jody Lunke and Miles Garthus (Val) of Warroad, MN; and his mother-in-law Carol Garthus of Holt, MN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Nazareth Lutheran Church (202 Marshall Ave, Holt, MN 56738). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
