We bid farewell to Alan Hyland of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 9, 2025 at the age of 82. Alan touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Hyland and Arlyne Hyland (Uglem); his grandparent grandpa Uglem (grandma Uglem); his sister Audrey Bruggeman (Gary); his brother-in-law Virgil Defreece; and his son Justin Brierly.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Wendy Hyland (Pete Manning), Keith Hyland and Bret Hyland (Debbie); his grandchildren, Peter (Adrienne), Shannon (Cristan), Bryce (Sara), Anthony, Nathaniel (Mary), Stacy (Chris) and Danielle (Vinnie); his great grandchildren, Jasmyne, Selena, Kendal, Taylor and Yelena; his siblings, Arlette Defreece, Aldon Hyland (Trudy) and Arden Hyland (Shelly); and his cousin Lynn Anderson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Service - Thief River (420 Labree Ave, Thief River Falls, MN 56701). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Service (420 Labree Ave, Thief River Falls, MN 56701).
