He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Loiland and Myrtle Johnson; his great grandchild Addison Loiland; his brothers, Julian and John (Dennis); and his children-in-law, Tami Nelson and Bruce Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Zavoral (Englund); his children, Mike Loiland, Jeremy Loiland (Alison), Marion Johnson of Strandquist, MN and Steve Zavoral (Jodi); his grandsons, Eli Johnson, Jake Zavoral, Tristan Loiland (Cassidy) and Aiden Loiland; his great grandchild William Loiland; his sister Joyce Ruud of Isanti, MN; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Omlid (Clayton) of Isanti, MN, Ken Englund (Barb Nomeland) and Karen Loiland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Service (420 Labree Ave, Thief River Falls, MN 56701). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
