He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollis Thygeson and Ida Thygeson (Curtiss); his former wife Wenda Elaine Czeh; his wife Karen Fredrickson (Svensgaard); his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Bonnie; his sister Gayl Blom (Clayton); and his brother-in-law Clayton Blom.

He is survived by: his grandson Dalton Fredrickson; his sons, Mike Thygeson, Bryan Thygeson (Kathy) of Dilworth, MN, Bruce Thygeson (Kelly) and Monty Thygeson (Jan); his daughter-in-law Roxanne Thygeson; his grandchildren, Jessica Larson (Roy), Brandon Thygeson (Autum), Kevin Thygeson, Matthew Thygeson (Rachel), Mark Thygeson Jr. (Taylor), Ashton Thygeson, Marshall Jesme, Hannah Waswick, Lee Ann Schmidt, Hollis Thygeson, Annie Engelstad, Ben Engelstad (Brianna) and Shay Engelstad (Taylor); and his siblings, Sharon DeOgny (Dean) and Vernon Thygeson. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
