Russell leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Russell’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Russell will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra "Sandy" Landrus (Sandra); his granddaughter Alexandra Ellingson; and his mother Margaret Landrus. He is survived by: his children, Darrin Weigel (Tonia), Jason Weigel (Heather) and Jamie Weigel (MaryLee); and his siblings, Glen Landrus, David Landrus, Gail Garner and Bonnie Landrus. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post 117 (324 Brooks Ave, Thief River Falls, MN 56701). The military honors will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
