He is survived by: his children, Diane Vercruysse (Dan) of Tyler, Yvonne Sontag (Michael) of Minneota, John Thooft (Lorie) of Marshall, Duane Thooft (Judy) of Arco, Margaret Thooft of Rapid City, Bernard Thooft (Marcia) of Clay Center, Francis Thooft (Sherry) of Beaver City, Daryl Thooft of Ghent and Joyce Louwagie (Keith) of St. Joseph, Minnesota; and his siblings, Marion VanDenBroeke and Jeanette Lanoue. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
