It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leona Thooft (Tyler, Minnesota), who passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Laleman and Helene Laleman (Slembroeck Apsomer); her husband Amandus Thooft; her daughter Maria Redmond; her grandchildren, Mathias Thooft, Aaron Redmond, Scott Lee, Isaiah Thooft, Angela Thooft and Hazel Thooft; her great grandchild Dillan Thooft; and her siblings, Joe Laleman, Daniel Lalemen, Mary Anne Buysse and Bernice Wyffels.
She is survived by: her children, Arthur Thooft (Jean) of Audubon, James Thooft (Mary) of Lake Benton, Theresa Lee (Bryan) of Lafayette, Leonard Thooft (Janet) of Hoyt, Joseph Thooft (Kathleen) of Ipswich, Ellen Popowski (Martin) of Ivanhoe, Louise Soucie (Bob) of St. Anne, Charles Thooft (Catherine) of St. Paul, Paul Thooft (Karen) of Marshall, Christopher Thooft of Tyler, Philip Thooft (Michelle) of Chisholm, Matthew Thooft (Bernadette) of Canyon, Monica Thooft of Marshall and Benjamin Thooft (Evelyne) of San Antonio, Texas; and her brothers, Omer Laleman and Etien Laleman. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
