It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irma Sonnenberg of Vergas, Minnesota, who passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Benson and Irene Benson (Porter); her husband Harvey Sonnenberg; her son-in-law Perry Grundyson; her parents-in-law, Ted and Alivna Sonnenberg; her siblings, Chester Benson, Jay Benson, Sara O'Grady, Susan Turnbull and Joann Cichy; her nephews, Terry O'Grady, Jr. and Jerry Poss; and her niece LaVonne Richards (Poss).
She is survived by: her children, Renee of Vergas, Bucky (Julie) of Frazee and Brandon (Kayla) of Frazee; her grandchildren, Braylen and Caleb; and her sister Betty Benson of Dilworth. She is also survived by several brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the United Methodist Church (200 W Main St, Vergas, MN 56587). A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
