We bid farewell to Grace M. Heitzman of Virginia, Minnesota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 31, 2025 at the age of 93. Grace touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Cook and Ella Cook (McColgin); her husband Ralph Heitzman; her son-in-law James Hakkila; her siblings, Walt, Ken, Duane, Dorothy and Amy Jean; her grandchildren, Jamie and Eric; and her great grandchild Gavin.
She is survived by: her children, Joe (Bubs) of Gilbert, Sharon Hakkila of Britt, Janice Gentile (Louie) of Gilbert, Richard (Joanne) of Gilbert, Sherwin (Lanette) of Kingman, AZ, Connie Walz (Mike) of Eveleth, Shirley Leoni (Todd) of Lakeland, Char Ferkul (Willy) of Lake Vermilion and JoAnn Mohar (Brian) of Wolf Creek, MT; and her brother Curt Cook (Dorothy) of Dilworth. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (515 Summit St N, Gilbert, MN 55741).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Grace to Virginia Carefree Assisted Living or Moments Hospice.
