It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julia Anderson (Virginia, Minnesota), who passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Mikkola and Hilja Mikkola (Ahola); her husbands, Earl Swanson of Janzen's Greenhouse and Elmer Anderson; her brother Richard Mikkola; her brothers-in-law, Jim Swanson and Clifford Mattson; and her nephews, James Swanson and Cameron Mattson.
She is survived by: her son Edward Luoma; her sisters, Anna Swanson and Mary Mattson; her sister-in-law Bertha Mikkola; her nephews, Walter and Chris; her niece Liz; her stepchildren, Steve Anderson and Sandy Simek; and her close friends, Gerri Caple, Ron Saukko and Bruce Dagen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mesabi Humane Society in Virginia, Minn.
