He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Anderson and Brita Anderson (Larssen); his wives, Esther Ruth Johnson and Sharon Brinkman; his sister Margaret Grothusen; and his stepson Mark Brinkman.

He is survived by: his children, Christine Johnson (Brian) of Duluth, David R. Anderson of Ely and Brian Anderson of Fargo; and his stepsons, Paul Brinkman (Kathy) of Virginia, David Brinkman of Virginia and Steve Brinkman (Kim) of Virginia. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to the Rockwell Church (93 Midway Drive, Virginia, MN) in lieu of flowers.
