He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ahlers and Alta Ahlers (Hoffman); and his parents-in-law, Russell and Shirley Breuer. He is survived by: his wife Valerie Breuer of Mary's Catholic Church; his daughters, Michele Klennert (Grant) of Hayfield and Mandy Edelbach (Tommy) of Dumfries; his grandchildren, Madilyn, Lincoln and Jeston; his sister Joanne Kolter (Rick) of Onalaska, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Lidberg (Dale), Tracy Breuer and Pam Breuer.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A vigil service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Abbott Funeral Home & Crematory (236 2nd St W, Wabasha, MN 55981). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Felix Catholic Church (117 3rd St W, Wabasha, MN 55981).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Felix School or St Elizabeth's Community Development Foundation.
