He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Schmit and Norma Schmit (Peters); his siblings, Allan Schmit, Robert Schmit and Shirley Funke; his siblings-in-law, Jack Funke and Judy Schmit; his nephew Darron Schmit; and also Clara Schmit (Larson).
He is survived by: his siblings, Jim (Marsha), Bill (Rose), John "Buck", Leo (Penny), Joe (Sue) and Barb Heins (Paul); and his sister-in-law Lori Schmit.
Two individuals will benefit from the donation of his corneas. The Lions Eye Bank wants to thank Don for this generous donation.
