She was predeceased by : her parents, Richard Gibson and Helen Gibson (Butler); her husbands, Richard Thornton and Otto Getschmann; her children, Mary Jensen and Walter Thornton; her grandchildren, Carly Wilson, Rachel Thornton Zomak and Richard Bignell; and her siblings, Rowena Trip, Richard Gibson and Kenneth Smith.

She is survived by : her children, James Thornton (Frances) of Mountain Home, ID, Arthur "Jack" Thornton (Pat) of Columbia Heights, MN, Delores "Dori" Bales of Wabasha, MN and Sue Ernst (Joel) of Alma, WI. She is also survived by many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; some great great grandchildren and other relatives.
