We announce the death of John P. Devins of Waconia, Minnesota, born in Beloit, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 96. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Devins and Sarah Devins; his granddaughters, Caitlan Barton and Claire Devins; his son-in-law Paul Barton; his sister Sally Adams (Sam); and his parents-in-law, Joseph and Belle Soderberg.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Thomas Devins, Susan Barton, John Devins (Marie), Joseph Devins (Elizabeth), James Devins (Julie), Mary Whitlock (Tom) and Timothy Devins (Aimee); and his grandchildren, Kaity Kramer, Allison Barton Doane, Michael Devins, Amanda Peterson, Laura Kuisle, Abigail Devins, Sean Devins, Belle Devins, Amelia Devins, Jarod Devins, Delaney Devins, Eli Devins, Raymond Whitlock, Joe Whitlock, Pearse Devins and Owen Devins. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Community (41 E 1st St, Waconia, MN 55387). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials preferred to the Ridgeview Foundation in Waconia.
