He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Knutson and Irene Knutson (Bonita (Bonnie) Knutson); his daughter Anita Bavier; and his brother Hillman Knutson. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his son Chad Knutson (Karen) of Watertown, SD; his son-in-law Kelly Bavier of Eau Claire, WI; his grandchildren, Leah Engen (Chris), Ashley Cetnar (Adam), Jordon Wellman (Clay) and Trenton Knutson; his great grandchildren, Lucy, Matthew, Rose Cetnar and Katie Wellman; his siblings, Eunice Molested of Renville, MN, Hilding Knutson (Linda) of Redwood, MN, Ilyene Kletcher (Merlin) of Belview, MN and Milo Knutson of Belview, MN; and his sister-in-law Myrt Knutson of Minnetonka, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sunset Funeral Home (100 North Ave, Echo, MN 56237). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
When Wendell could no longer do woodworking projects, he began cross stitching and loop knitting hats to donate to local churches.
