He was predeceased by : his parents, Elroy Schmitz and Elizabeth Schmitz (Gleason); his brothers, Mike Schmitz and Randy Schmitz; his grandparents, Jake, Louella Schmitz, James and Lillian Gleason; his uncle James Gleason; and also, Kelly Maunumaki and Mickayla Maunumaki.
He is survived by : his son Anthony "AJ" Schmitz of Wadena; and his siblings, Larry Schmitz of Nisswa, Rick Schmitz (Vicky) of Wadena, Linda Schallock of Delano, Sheila Schmitz of Wadena, Danny Schmitz (Donna) of New York Mills, Wendy Schmitz (Dave Larson) of New York Mills, Connie Kern of Little Falls, Tim Schmitz (Deb) of New York Mills and Cindy Savaloja of Wadena. He is also survived by his family and friends.
