We are sad to announce that on July 26, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Jay Veronen of Wadena, Minnesota, born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Veronen and Arlene Veronen (Mack); and his siblings, Mary (Douglas) and Matthew. He is survived by: his wife Mavis Freitag; his sons, Kevin Veronen (Elizabeth) of Huntersville, Scott Veronen (Jennifer) of Verndale, Jeff Veronen (April) of Verndale and Paul Veronen; his pet Garfield; his grandchildren, Autumn Junes (Brady), Mysti Kindenhart (Ryual), Jacky Meyer (Phil), Emily Ismil (Robert), Brianna Whitaker (Stephon), Krysta Kopp, Kaitlyn Hamer, David Veronen and Walter Veronen; and his sister-in-law Barbara. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (1000 4th St NE, Staples, MN 56479). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Montrose Cemetery ~ Verndale (16260 235th Ave, Staples, MN 56481).
