He is survived by: his wife Karen Thoele; his children, Sandra Wolter (Douglas), Debra Aronson and John Jr. Tiller (Adriana); his grandchildren, Kelly Steberg, Neil Aronson, Jack Aronson, Shannon Garza, Kari Hennager and Laura Wolter; and his stepgrandchildren, Crystal Wilcox, Angelo Barrientez and Ariel Merriman.
Memorials are preferred to the Trinity Cemetery or Mayo Hospice in Rochester, Minnesota.
