He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hegseth and Nora Hegseth (Engebertson); his wife Colleen Myran; his daughter Karen Fredrickson; and his siblings, Adele Johnson, Joel Hegseth, Alton Hegseth and Dorothy Meyer.
He is survived by: his children, Stuart Hegseth of Wanamingo, Mary Hegseth of Zumbrota, Jane Wahlin (Jerry) of Cold Spring, Dean Hegseth of Zumbrota and Dan Hegseth (Lisa) of Ramsey, Minn.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to the Wanamingo Lutheran Cemetery fund.
