He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Patten and Anna Patten (Carlson); his sisters, Marjorie Patten and Kathy Gunderson; his brother-in-law Luther Danks; his nephew Steve Danks; and his grandchild Jesse Hudson.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Harrold, Suzie Root, Lynne Patten, Bill Patten (Kelly Lundgren) and Joely Patten Eskens (Allen); his sister Lois Danks; his grandchildren, Shane Patten, Abbey Hackbarth (Rick), Bill Root (Machia), Jackie Root, Ben Root and Mikayla Eskens (Jon Koser); and his former wife Donna Oliva (Bartz). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St John Lutheran Church - Elca (401 3rd Ave NE, Waseca, MN 56093). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
