Gladys R. Bently Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys R. Bently (Waseca, Minnesota), who passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Gladys is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Gladys' spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Foster Rechel and Ruth Rechel (Ross); and her daughter Ruth "Ruthie" Bently. She is survived by: her significant other Sylvester "Syl" Reitmeyer; and her children, Jean Bently-Jones, Joan Fletcher (Dan) and John Bently (Deb). She is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (10 Deerfield Rd, Deerfield, IL 60015). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or to Zion Lutheran Church in Deerfield, IL.
