It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Paul Mathews of Waseca, Minnesota, who passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mathews and Isabelle Mathews (McMahon); his wife Ruthie Hodgkins; his siblings, Vince, John Mathews, Phyllis Peterson and Rita Suek; and his nephew Mitchell Mathews.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dick and Janet Mathews. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
