He was predeceased by: his parents, Helmuth Barbknecht and Clara Barbknecht (Klinger); his son William; his brother Lester Barbknecht (Sue); his brothers-in-law, David Sutlief and Mark Halblieb; and also, Loretta Schwartz (Vernon), Helen Karsten (Willard), Lucille Hager, Mary Jean Hager, John Hager, Neil Hager, Donald Hager, David Hager, Louis Hager (Harriet) and Paul Hager.
He is survived by: his wife Rosanne Hager; his children, Lisa Groskreutz (Lyle) of Eagle Lake, James Barbknecht (Rae Lynn Hall), Julie Hanson (Matthew) of Dover, NH and Suzanne Barbknecht of Port Charlotte, FL; his brother Donald Barbknecht (Barb) of Monmouth, OR; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Hager, Donna Hager, Betty Hager and Loretta Ratajcsyk; and also, Dennis Hager (Becky), Gene Hager (Tena), Susie Redman (Donald), Sandy Sutlief and Debbie Halblieb. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
