He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Ashfeld and Elizabeth Ashfeld (Hielmaier); his grandson James; and his siblings, James and Joanne.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick Ashfeld (Linda), Keith Ashfeld, Teresa Peterson (Tony) and Paul Ashfeld; his grandchildren, Kerry, Kody, Amber, Lenna, Jordan and Leighton; and his sisters, Dianne Garding and Arlys Hicks.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 6:45 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ertl Funeral Home (221 Church St, Watkins, MN 55389). A Mass will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church of St Anthony (170 Meeker Ave S, Watkins, MN 55389).
