He was predeceased by: his mothers, Agnes Hilgenkamp and Evie Hilgenkamp; his parents-in-law, Otto and Gertrude Bartelt; his siblings, Betty, Morris, Dorris, Jean and Bob; and his sister-in-law Janice.
He is survived by: his wife Janice; and his sons, Todd (Sue), Brad (Janice) and Jon (Kim). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wayzata, MN or to Valparaiso University.
