With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ione M. Schmidt of Wheaton, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 19, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Tobeck and Dora Tobeck; her husband Milton Schmidt; her children, Sherilyn Martinek and Lonnie Schmidt; her siblings, Eunice Schmitz, VerDean, Vergil and Gary Tobeck; her daughter-in-law Janette Schmidt; and her granddaughter Tera Berger.
She is survived by: her children, Lee Schmidt and Lynae Berger (Gene); her grandson Michael Martinek (Erin); her children, Paul Martinek, Robbie Schmidt (Jaylene), Tara Stotesbery (James), Tony Berger (Gina) and Levi Berger (Christina); her sister Sandra Sager; and her sister-in-law Mavis Petersen. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
