He was predeceased by: his parents, Len Carter and Esther Carter. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Carter (Donnie); his former wife Karen Erickson; Cheryl (Greg), Greg (Julie), Susan, Ross (Dawn), Genya Rhea (John) and Devin (Emily). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Open Hands Midway, MACV (Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans) an organization supporting Minnesota veterans and their families, American Legion Post 168, Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee), an organization helping displaced Ukrainians.
