He was predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine Dahlman and Edward Dahlman. He is survived by: his sister Laurie Dahlman; his children, Rick Dahlman and Debbie; his son-in-law Kyle McIntyre; and his grandchildren, Andrew McIntyre and Erinn McIntyre.

His contributions to the field were significant, especially in his role traveling the world as a Patent Liaison.
