It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Agnes Gertrude Schwanke of Willmar, Minnesota, who passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Spartz and Sophie Spartz (Nord); her husband Virgil Schwanke of Mary's Catholic Church; her son Michael; her brothers, Lawrence and Vernon Spartz; and her siblings-in-law, Bill Person, Eldin Schwanke (Bud), Eleanor Schwanke, Mary Spartz and Carol Schueler.
She is survived by: her children, Connie Burns (David) of Spicer and Tung Huynh (Dieu) of Garden Grove, California; her daughter-in-law Sharon Paler of New Prague; her grandchildren, Mark Schwanke (Nicole), Angela Paffrath (Justin), Matthew Burns (Andrea Hannem), Sarah Burns (Adam Callier), Anna Halaska (Mercedes) and Leyna Huynh; her siblings, Marion Person of Eden Prairie, Charles Spartz (Gerlinda) of Noblesville and Ambrose Spartz of Hartford City; and her siblings-in-law, Norman Schueler of Willmar and Sheila Spartz of Noblesville. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home (700 Becker Ave SW, Willmar, MN 56201). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Church of St. Mary (713 12th St SW, Willmar, MN 56201). A Mass was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
