He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Petersen and Johanna Petersen (Kramer); his brother Virgil Petersen; his daughter-in-law Deborah Petersen; his siblings-in-law, Darrell Sebring (Patricia), Karen Sebring, Roy Sebring and Judy (David); and his nephew Ron Cooley (Gary Hasbrook).
He is survived by: his wife Maydean Lucille Sebring; his grandchildren, Dwight Petersen and Olivia of Willmar; his children, Mark Petersen (Amanda), Elizabeth Monroe (Abbie) of Duluth, Haley, Johanna of Willmar, VaLoris Anderson (Tony), Laura, Heidi and Peter of Atwater; his sister-in-law Anita Petersen of Raymond; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Craig Petersen (Heather), Malinda, Evan of Raymond, Loren Petersen (Marci), Tim and Jasmine of Minneota; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Sebring (Sandra) of Raymond, Linda Cooley of Urbandale, IA, Terry Sebring (Janice) of Clarksville, TN, Alice Aasen (Marvin) of Willmar, Iris Rocha (Gordon) of Sioux City, IA, John Sebring of Svea, Beverly Hasbrook of Paynesville, Janice Noor (Kevin) of Everett, WA, Brenda Tuve (Paul) of Raymond and Michael Sebring of Willmar.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Johns Lutheran Church (401 Day St N, Raymond, MN 56282). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
