He was predeceased by : his parents, John Klaassen and Johanna Klaassen; his brother Ronald Klaassen; and his nephew Joshua Klaassen. He is survived by : his wife Nancy (Meyer); his children, Hahne Heck (Troy), Leah Rasmussen (Eric) and Gabe Klaassen (Sarah); his grandchildren, Taden, Ellie, Jossyn, Wyatt, Margo, Gus and Gwen; and his siblings, Bruce Klaassen, Cindy Ohl (Ken) and Brian Klaassen. He is also survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to Willmar Civic Scholarship Association.
