He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Caviness and Grace Caviness (Palmer); his siblings, Glenn Caviness, Evelyn, Art Freer, Darrell and Irene Caviness; and his sister-in-law Peggy Caviness.

He is survived by : his wife Joann Caviness of Windom; his children, Ray Caviness of Chandler, AZ, Randy Caviness (Cathy) of Burnsville, MN, David Caviness of Windom and Janice Caviness; his grandchildren, Jason, Amber, Kelly, Shana, Brady, Cally, Ashley and Robert; and his siblings, Joyce Nissen (Darrell) of Lakefield and Richard Caviness of Waconia. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
