He was predeceased by: his parents, Cloyse Cowan and Vivian Cowan (Crabtree); his daughter Tina Lee Cowan; his granddaughter Taylor Rose Cowan; his siblings, Don Cowan (Betty), Norman Cowan, Gary Cowan and Joyce Pesch (Larry); and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Cowan and Gary Muller.
He is survived by: his wife Henrietta Cowan of Windom; his children, Dennis Cowan (Jody) of Storden, Jayne Mischke (LeeLand) of Westbrook, Linda Pack (Chris) of Hayfield, Benjamin Cowan (Tricia) of Bemidji, Colleen Shipp of Worthington and Eldon Smith of Duncan, OK; his siblings, William Cowan of Worthington, Sharon Fritz (Bud) of Reading and Joan Kontz of Pearce, AZ; and his siblings-in-law, Siebe Muller (Maizy), Annette Kemp and Janice Muller. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
