It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon E. Matthees of Winona, Minnesota, who passed away on April 30, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Matthees and Dora Matthees (Gensmer); his wife Sandra Ann Reese; his siblings, Eldor, Ed and JoAnn Nichols (Boyd); and his sisters-in-law, LaVonne Kowalewski (Dick) and Nancy Springer (Don).

He is survived by: his children, Lance Matthees (Robin), Rock Matthees and Tamara Matthees (Randy Galewski); his grandchildren, Katina Matthees (Jeremy Voelker), Reese Galewski (James Balonis) and Bryce Galewski; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Roemer (Jim), Sharon Matthees and Janette Matthees.

He always took time to send a smile and a wave in passing and it always brighten our day. Such a sweet guy! Even when walking our dogs on the dike he would drive by see us (or our van) and give us a honk while driving in his white pickup. 😁 His kind gestures will be missed!! 😔”
