He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Chris Gernes (Thor) and Tom Bambenek (Sue); his daughter-in-law Rosemary Bambenek; his grandchildren, Matt Bambenek (Angie), Tracy Bambenek and Holly Bambenek; and his stepgrandchildren, Lacey Potter (Shawn) and Brittany Fabien (Tanner). He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka (625 E 4th St, Winona, MN 55987). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Stanislaus Basilica (625 E 4th St, Winona, MN 55987).
