He was predeceased by: his parents, Reinhold Wurch and Louise Wurch (Stry); his daughter Susan; and his sisters, Elvira Benner, Nina Bailey, Carolyn Schoessow, Betty Hayworth and Ruth Bulleit.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene Nelson; his children, David Wurch and Patricia Schissel (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Sage and Garrett Schissel.
