She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Steinfeldt and Gertrude Steinfeldt (Cooper); her son Tommy Lee; and her siblings, Norman Steinfeldt, Harold Steinfeldt, Edna Hill, Sophie Mueller, Evelyn Seidel, Hattie Schuppel, Laura Haack and Carolyn Poulin.

She is survived by: her former husband George H. Griffin; her husband Henry Scharmer; and her children, David Griffin (Gail), Susan Durnen (Pat), Karen Phillips (Richard), Kathy Griffin, George Griffin, Jr. (Joanne), Stephanie Griffin (Dave), John Griffin (Kathy), Jeff Griffin (Denise) and Cindy Potter. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
