The family announces the passing of James Young of Woodbury, Minnesota on September 20, 2026. James, born on November 19, 1966, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
James will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor James by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though James is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. James’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Young and Mary Ann Young (Slomkowski). He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Michael Olson (Jess) and Crissy Oertel (Mike); and his grandchildren, Ariah, Amelia and Soren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
