Opal Petersen Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on August 10, 2021, at the age of 97, Opal Petersen of Woodbury, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Emanuel L. Nordlund and Martha Rude Nordlund; her siblings, Emanuel V. Nordlund, Dorothy Buchanan (Kantor) and Edie O'Malley; her children, Nancy Hansen (Linehan), Daniel Bartholomew and Jim Bartholomew (Julie); her stepdaughters, Jeri Rae Doughty, Lynn Goodwater, Kris Petersen and Wendy Smith (Scott); her grandchildren, Jimmy Linehan (Lina Maria), Heather Holderness, Amy Bartholomew, Larissa Sipprell (Chris), Kelsey Bast (Lee), John (Shanta), Mark Bartholomew and Katie Jackson (Jeff); her stepgrandchildren, Jessica Jordan, Amanda Rosemark, Ben Myrick and Chris Chamberlain; her great grandchildren, Lauren Vogtner (Josh), Ryan, Cameron, Landon Linehan, Elizabeth Hand (Sebastian), Taylor Holderness, Kamron, Zoey Rose Listrud, Adam, Trevor Sipprell, Lexi, Andy Bast, Ayla Brown, Hazel Sue and James Jackson; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Travis Ohnstad, Lydia, Gabe Myrick, Jaxon Rosemark, Harrison Chamberlain and Laura Eskenazi; her great great grandchildren, Ariah, Essence, Oliver and Scarlett Hand; and her nieces and nephews, Beth Choukalas (Peter), Donna Hutton, David Hutton (Michele), Kathy Hart, Scott Nordlund (Kathie), Kent Nordlund (Terry) and Kurt Nordlund.

Served on the Original Washington County Court House Foundation Board and actively pursued the preservation of this Historic Site.
